I read it to Bertie aged 4 aged 4

5 stars
Lovely little book, a cross between a picture book and activity book its suitable for several ages. The illustrations are beautiful and the story is short but sweet.
The page at the back "What is a Hare" is really educational and has a good explanation of the difference between a hare and a rabbit.

I read it to rsa aged 7 aged 7
Hare 9781910646113

This is such a beautifully illustrated book. It should appeal, and be useful, to a wider age range than the usual picture book. My son was most amused by the names given to the hare. At the back of the book are a variety of interesting facts about the hare and a range of activities (word search, filling in the missing word, maze, colouring in etc. We would both recommend it to any nature lover.

I read it to Squirt aged 3 aged 3
Hare 9781910646113
4 stars
A really beautifully illustrated book, the pictures were gorgeous and we loved spotting all the different animals hiding in it. My daughter is 3 and did enjoy the book, however the text was a little beyond her-I can see it appealing more to an older child. I thought the addition of puzzles in the back was a nice touch, again, children a little older would enjoy them.

I read it to RUBYB aged 5 aged 5
Hare 9781910646113
4 stars
The book has beautiful illustrations throughout and my daughter loved exploring the images. The text is difficult to read in places but my daughter quickly picked up on the unusual rhyme. My daughter said the best thing about the book were the activities at the back which she really enjoyed! I would Recommend this book but read the inside first for information on how to read the text and perhaps suited to slightly older children more.

Piglet read it themselves aged 6 aged 6

A unique book that is both a story poem and activity book. The first half of the book is poetic - both ethereal and magical - and loosely describes how a hare travels through the fields. The style of illustration, and brings back memories of books that I read as a child in the eighties. Each picture includes other animals, and we enjoyed looking for them and naming them as we went through the story. My sons favourite bit was the use of the nickname of the hare - 'Old Bigbum' - which certainly has prompted quite a few giggles in this household!  The second half of the book consists of a number of hare-related activities, which are more suited to an older child. This is JUST the sort of book that I would have loved as a child, the word searches, mazes and story prompts would have kept me amused for some time. So it is great to have this book for my children, who have greatly enjoyed it.

My biggest tip would be to read the inside of the back cover first! Having read that, it all makes much more sense how to read the book and what the paler grey words are all about. I think I would have put this info at the front?
It is a beautiful book. Lovely illustrations, unusual poetic text. A nice bonus of interesting information about hares at the back and a few ages of nice linked activities to do. Perfect for Easter!

I read it to Brobee aged 4 aged 4 & to Toodee aged 2 aged 2
Hare 9781910646113
4 stars
This is a lovely book with lots of activities for children to share. The text is quite tricky to understand for younger readers but is so beautifully poetic to read and enjoy as an adult. The illustrations are stunning and capture the magical qualities of the hare that are in the text. It's a lovely books to share during the springtime.

I read it to Arya aged 3 aged 3
Hare 9781910646113
3 stars
This book wasn't for my little girl she couldn't really comprehend the text and she didn't seem interested.  I think the book would be best suited to older children-maybe five years old and over.
However, I  found the book beautiful it has lovely illustrations and wonderful writing about Hares. It also has some activities to do at the back of the book, for example wordsearches and pictures to draw. I would recommend this book to children who like nature and animals.
