This is the first David Walliams book we have read with our daughter. I had thought that they were aimed at older children (and some of them are) but this one was perfect for my two-year-old, she absolutely loved the story especially the part where Sheila the Hippo does a ginormous trump and she couldn't wait for Daddy to come home so she could tell him about it! It's riotous, silly fun with a wonderful story and fantastic, engaging illustrations that incorporate the text in some places to further draw you into the story. We loved it and will be looking to read more David Walliams books soon.

I thoroughly enjoyed this book!  I think it was a little bit grown up for my daughter, but even so she loved the illustrations and listening to the story!

We finished reading this with my 3 year old saying 'I just can't stop laughing'. The animals' comments in the story are hilarious. We loved the pictures.

My four year old found this book very fun and loved the bright illustrations. She enjoyed the story about Sheila the hippopotamus being the first hippo on the moon. She was left giggling and couldn't wait to tell everyone Sheila's secret that she wasn't the first hippo in fact. Lovely book will look out for more from David Williams
