This is the cat, the dog and the mouse. Here's the old lady in the tumbledown house. She has a spell to make them all well... But she just can't find the right one! WHOOPS! In this hilariously chaotic, all-join in romp of a story three animals are desperate to make the right noises. Illustrated by Russell Ayto, winner of the Roald Dahl Funny Prize and The Nestle Children's Book Prize.

A story of three animals who have lost their voices, in a quest to find them a wise old owl points them in the direction of an old lady, she tests out her spells, but not exactly with quite the right results.  A story that rhymes beautifully, is full of giggles and with illustrations that make you spot something new each time (check out her hair!!). My daughters favourite bit of course is the lady turning into a frog. We've all loved reading this, I think this is one that will be read many many times.

I enjoyed the book because it made me laugh. It was a rhyming story which I read it more than once. I was able to read some of the pages, on my second and third reading, off by heart. It was easy to read. The liked the strange knitted legs, the changing colour of the chair and one of the characters hair change. The various animals were fun and certain parts of their body changed. I did not know what to expect at the end of the story and did not know the author. I would enjoy reading another story by the same author and illustrator.

Whoops! is a lovely, rhyming, beautifully illustrated story about a cat, a mouse, a dog and an old lady (who may just be a witch) in a tumbledown house. Children will love the mixed up noises that the animals make as the old lady tries to fix their sounds.
