Mr Happy was fat and round, and happy! When he meets Mr Miserable, the most miserable person in the world, Mr Happy wonders if he can make him happy by taking him to Happyland.

The Mr Men and Little Miss have been delighting children for generations with their charming and funny antics. Bold illustrations and funny stories make Mr Men and Little Miss the perfect story time experience for children aged two up. Have you met them all?

It all started with a tickle. Roger Hargreaves' son Adam asked him what a tickle looked like. In response, Roger drew a small orange man with extraordinarily long arms that could reach anywhere and tickle anyone. Mr Tickle, the first of the Mr Men, was born. Mr Tickle was soon joined by Mr Greedy, Mr Happy, Mr Nosey, Mr Sneeze and Mr Bump. The books were an instant hit and Roger went on to create many more Mr Men and Little Miss characters. What Roger really wanted was to make children laugh, which is probably why his own favourite character is Mr Silly.

Mr Happy is the star of the 3rd book in the Mr Men collection. Mr Happy strives to be happy and wants everyone else to be happy too. In this tale he meets Mr Miserable and tries to make him happy; the story ends with Mr Miserable bursting into laughter.

This is a sweet story with wonderful illustrations to accompany it. They are eye-catchingly bright; my toddlers love them. The small size of the book makes it perfect for little ones to handle independently.

This is one of the Mr Men books where the text (for all it's fairly simple) can get quite lengthy in places. I do have to paraphrase depending on the attention span of my little ones at the time! I do accept this as par-the-course at the minute due to their ages.

This is an absolute classic and definitely worthy of a read.

My four year old son loves the Mr Men Series. As a bedtime story, I think what works well is that the text which accompanies the pictures is relatively short, so little ones don't get bored waiting for you to read through a lot of text before moving onto the next picture. That being said, the text does get a bit more lengthy towards the end of this book, and my son started to get a little impatient to change the page the longer the paragraphs became.
The drawings are bright, simple and cheerful, and Mr Happy is my son's favorite Mr Man - because he's yellow and happy.  In this story, Mr Happy goes on a walk in the woods and discovers a door in a tree. He wonders who lives there and decides to investigate. It is the house of Mr Miserable. They make friends and Mr Happy goes on a mission to make Mr Miserable happy. My son loves the last page, which is Mr Miserable erupting in a huge laugh.
