In this new illustrated middle-grade series from James Patterson, an extraordinary robot signs up for an ordinary fifth grade class... and elementary school will never be the same!

It was never easy for Sammy Hayes-Rodriguez to fit in, so he's dreading the day when his genius mom insists he bring her newest invention to school: a walking, talking robot he calls E - for "Error". Sammy's no stranger to robots - his house is full of a colourful cast of them. But this one not only thinks it's Sammy's brother... it's actually even nerdier than Sammy.

Will E be Sammy's one-way ticket to Loserville? Or will he prove to the world that it's cool to be square? It's a roller-coaster ride for Sammy to discover the amazing secret E holds that could change his family forever... if all goes well on the trial run!

It is about a boy whose Mum invents a robot and at first he doesn't like it but then they become best friends. I loved this book from start to finish. It had a great moral to the story. James Patterson is one of my favourite authors as he gets better and better with every book!

My 6 year old daughter read this to herself, she found it very easy to read with plenty of chapters and pictures for variety. My daughter found no faults with the book. The story was enjoyable to read.     The characters were very interesting, she could relate to some of the characters in the book.     My daughter would recommend this book to other children.

In the House of Robots, a boy has to take a robot to school. The boy is Sammy and the robot is E. Sammy's mum made the robot - she's an inventor. At first the robot is quite annoying, then E starts to get better. He had a food fight at school! I really liked the story because it's a funny story and there are cartoon drawings in the book too, so you can see the different robots - and the food fight! I think other people will like the book too.

I really enjoyed this book. It was funny and moving. The main characters Sammy and E are very likeable and you can relate to them. Sammy lives in a house full of robots as his mom is an inventor, and the most annoying robot E is going to be at Sammy's school, which is to help Sammy's sister who has been housebound due to an illness. I had no problem reading it myself, and even though it wasn't a short book the chapters were quite short, which I liked so I could to the end of a chapter and stop if I needed to and I knew where I had finished. There is lots of drama, and I liked there was a happy ending. There were some great drawings, which help bring the book to life and lessons can be learned from the book.

Quite an enjoyable read, some brilliant pictures, so many pictures in fact that it slows down the reading as we had to stop and discuss everything that was going on in the pictures.

The story is good too, quite moving at times. My one issue though is that Cooper Elliot should have been expelled for the crap he kept doing.
