With her irresistible urge to tell a joke in every situation - even when she really, really shouldn't - twelve-year-old Jacky Ha-Ha loves to make people laugh. And cracking wise helps distract her from thinking about not-so-funny things in her life, like her mom serving in a dangerous, faraway war, and a dad who's hardly ever home. But no matter how much fun Jacky has, she can't seem to escape her worries. So one starlit night, she makes a promise to keep her family together...even if she has to give up the one thing that makes her happy. But can she stop being Jacky Ha-Ha, if that's who she really is?

I read this with my Mum and really enjoyed it. It is about a girl called Jacky and her life. She has a stutter and gets round this by being a joker. This is a good book as it tells the story about life and how it isn't always so easy. Really enjoyed this book and the other James Patterson books.

This is a great book. Jacky is a real goofy and likeable character. She is always clowning around. This book is realistic because she has a lot of ups and downs just like everyone. I really like James Patterson books. They never fail to make me laugh

I liked this book its about a girl who is at school and she is very funny.
Jacky has a stutter but she hides it by being the class clown, When she gets a lot of  detentions for telling  jokes she is  forced to take part in the school Charlie Brown play. Her mum in the army and she is one of six sisters Jacky can't help but feel that her life is rubbish and that no one cares about her.
There is a theme behind the story - things aren't always as bad as they seem.

This book is a funny story about a girl who loves to make people laugh. But, she only really makes people laugh so she can take her mind off her mother who is fighting in a war the other side of the world and her father working late nights. Her name is Jaqueline Hart. She has 6 sisters so her father doesn’t really take much notice of her.
My favourite character is Jacky because she reminds me of myself, wanting to make people laugh all the time. My favourite part was when Jacky climbed the ferries wheel because I thought it was funny that she howled and she was brave to climb to the top of a ferries wheel in the middle of the night.
The main characters are; Jacky, Meredith, Bill, Jacky’s 6 sisters and Ms. O’Mara
I loved this book because it is funny and enjoyable. The only part I didn’t like was when Jacky’s father said that she couldn’t do the speech or the show. I thought this was unfair because Jacky had been working so hard to make the perfect speech and learn her lines for the show. I would love to read more books by James Patterson and similar books to Jacky Ha-Ha.

Jacky Ha Ha is a joker and has been since she started school and people made fun of her stutter.  However, her jokes are getting her into more and more trouble.
Her mum's serving as a marine in Saudi Arabia and her dad's saving lives at the beach (and sneaking off in the evenings with the most attractive female lifeguard on duty) as Jacky struggles to find her niche in life.
Intervention from her Head Teacher in the form of the school production and a public speaking competition could be just what Jacky needs to channel her energy and stop her from falling further into trouble.  But can she stick at it and avoid getting any more detentions?
A really heart-warming and humorous tale about a young girl making her won decisions about her life.
