The Snowman flies again in the follow-up to Christmas classic. Billy and his mum have moved into a new house, but Billy isn't very full of Christmas cheer, as his beloved old dog has passed away. So when the snow falls and Billy starts to build a Snowman, he knows exactly what to do- he builds a Snowdog too! Later that night, something magical happens, taking Billy on the most wonderful Christmas adventure. This book includes an audio CD featuring a narration read by Benedict Cumberbatch, and the music from the beautiful film score. ----- It's just not Christmas without the Snowman!

This beautiful story is a follow up to The Snowman. We return to his world - thanks to some original accessories - and meet a new snowy canine friend.
My daughter in particular loves dogs and this is probably one of her favourite Christmas stories. She has a snow dog soft toy which she uses to act out the story as we read.
The language is simple and the story is easy for children to follow.
It might be useful to know that the main character, Billy’s, elderly dog passes away in case this upsets some children. That said it did prompt further discussion about it. Just something to bear in mind. There is a lovely happy ending and it is a beautiful story to cherish together.

The book is just as good as the film. It is easy to read by myself without help and I really like that it has all the pictures from the film. My favourite character is the snowdog.

This book is treasured, especially at Christmas. We meet Billy as he is moving into his new home with his mum and dog. Unfortunately Billy's dog dies and Billy misses him. He finds a shoe box with a picture of a boy who used to live there next to a snowman. He decides to make the snowman and a snow dog. At night time hod snowman and snowdog come to life and he had a wee adventure. The children love this version and the CD is fab too! It's a touching story. Well loved in our house!
