This is a really lovely book with the characteristic illustrations from Eric Carle. The story follows an industrious spider building her web despite lots of offers of other things to do from all the farmyard animals. In the edition we have, the spiders web is slightly raised which my little one loves to feel. The book gives plenty of opportunity to practice your animal noises too!

Love, love, love this book. Such a fun book to read. My daughters have both enjoyed reading this book with myself. My eldest would choose it every night when she was younger. She would make the animal noises and began with finishing the sentences then we'd read it so many times she knew it word for word. She then passes on her love for it to my youngest. A beautifully made book. A simple story but a great one.

I read this book frequently with my older 2 children but have only recently picked it up again with my youngest. She loves to make the animal noises on each page and loves tracing her finger over the web as it is spun. We have the board book so it survives her sticky fingers well!
As ever, the illustrations are colourful and fun. In our version the threads of the web, the spiders legs and the fly are slightly raised as well which makes tracing over them a sensory experience.

Another great book from Eric Carle with lots of his distinctive and beautiful pictures in. This is a good book for a younger child as it has lots of animal noises to enjoy and bumpy spiders webs to feel as well. My baby and 3 year old both enjoy this book and with sturdy board pages it's great for my chewy baby!
