Lovely short time bed time story. My little girl loves me reading this one. she can sit through the whole story. Its a nice size for her to hold and its strong for her to turn pages without them tearing. I love little miss lucky and the midnight tree, lovely story.

This sweet tale is all about Little Miss Lucky: it's the 16th book in the Little Miss series - but that's perhaps negligible as they don't need to be read in order! Little Miss Lucky loves to read in bed: one horrible winter's night she is snuggled up with a book when she hears a knock at the door. Poor Little Miss Lucky ends up locked out of the house and a series of unpleasant events begin! I like how they keep repeating "I wonder why this story is called Little Miss Lucky?" Eventually you are treated to the answer as her awful night turns out to be a dream! My toddlers love the sound effects embedded in the text and join in with all the "thud"s.

The bright illustrations are wonderful; they are simple but eye-catching. They help demostrate the meaning of words we're reading as well as helping to keep my toddlers engaged in the book. The book itself is small so it's a brilliant size for my little ones to hold and handle themselves - great for pre-reading skills.

This is an exciting little story that we revisit often.
