Set sail with Jack for an adventure on the high seas in this wondrous story from the stellar picture-book partnership of Julia Donaldson and David Roberts. Jack's Granny is sick with a bad case of the moozles! And the only cure is the fruit of the flumflum tree which grows on the faraway Isle of Blowyernose. It's a perilous journey, but Jack bravely sets sail with a motley crew of three and a large patchwork sack that Granny has filled with an odd assortment of items from chewing gum to tent pegs. But what use will they be against hungry sharks, a leaky boat and a thieving monkey? Jack and the Flumflum Tree is a fantastic, action-packed rhyming adventure from Julia Donaldson, bestselling author of The Gruffalo , with richly detailed illustrations from award-winning illustrator David Roberts. Enjoy these other stories from Julia Donaldson and David Roberts: Tyrannosaurus Drip, The Troll, The Flying Bath and The Cook and the King .

You could write wonderful reviews on pretty much all the Julia Donaldson books. Controversially, this is my favourite. If you are looking for a gift for someone with small children, this is the one to get. Beautiful verse, colourful illustrations, and there is a granny in there - what more could you ask for?

We've had this book since Jess was a few months old, and I've always enjoyed it so it's been read fairly regularly.
In the last few weeks Jess seems to have completely fallen in love with it.  She knows lots of the words and will finish most of the pages, even if I only read the first line.  She loves shouting 'Blowyernose'!
And the illustrations are fantastic.  A few days ago - a couple of years down the line - we spotted that the inside covers have the contents of the sack hidden in them, and we had great fun finding them all - kept all of us busy for a while!  Very clever.
I'd recommend this book to anyone from a baby to (possibly immature) adult!

My daughter loves this book and we have read it over and over again! She loves the things the characters have to do throughout the story and finds the repetitive line "don't get your knickers in a twist" absolutely hilarious and loves the repetition throughout which she will copy with me! I would recommend this story to anyone with young children although I love it too!!

One of our many favourites in the Julia Donaldson range - and also gets my vote as I love David Roberts as an illustrator!
This is a fun rhyming story about how Jack and his friends voyage overseas to retrieve the fruit of the Flum Flum tree which will restore his grandmother to health. Only the quirky contents of the patchwork bag they carry will see them over the hurdles they encounter on their trip.
My 4 year old won't let me return the book to the library yet because he loves it so much. He even repeats the catchy line "Don't get your knickers in a twist said jack - lets have a look in the patchwork sack!"
Well recommended. Excellent gift or purchase for both boys and girls.

This is another fantastic book by Julia Donaldson. Jack and his crew are off in search of the fruit that grows on the flumflum tree. The doctor has said it is the only thing that will cure Jack's granny's moozles. So Jack and his crew sail off to the Isle of Blowyernose to find this magic cure and granny gives him a sack full of useful things for his journey. This book is wonderful. It has some fantastic illustrations and the usual sing song rhyming text we love in a Julia Donaldson book. The story is fun, silly and will make you smile. We highly recommend it.

This has become a firm favourite in our house after a nursery topic based on this book. As always with Julia Donaldson books the children quickly learn the words to the story. We have a lot of "don't get your knickers in a twist" and "let's have a look in the patchwork sack". Even my older children gravitate back to listen to this story!
