Using magic to help people is Little Miss Magic's favourite thing! But what happens when someone outsmarts her?

The Mr Men and Little Miss have been delighting children for generations with their charming and funny antics. Bold illustrations and funny stories make Mr Men and Little Miss the perfect story time experience for children aged two up. Have you met them all?

It all started with a tickle. Roger Hargreaves' son Adam asked him what a tickle looked like. In response, Roger drew a small orange man with extraordinarily long arms that could reach anywhere and tickle anyone. Mr Tickle, the first of the Mr Men, was born. Mr Tickle was soon joined by Mr. Greedy, Mr. Happy, Mr. Nosey, Mr Sneeze and Mr Bump. When the first Mr Men books were published they became an instant hit. Roger went on to create many more Mr Men and Little Miss characters. What Roger really wanted was to make children laugh, which is probably why his own favourite character is Mr Silly.

This amusing story is all about Little Miss Magic and is the 9th in the Little Miss collection. Little Miss Magic is magic! Whatever she tells something to do, it does. In this tale she teaches Mr Tickle a lesson because he's tickling too much and upsetting everyone - she tells his arms to shrink and they do. He promises to only have one tickle a day in exchange for his long arms back. It has a lovely ending that makes my toddlers laugh.

They really enjoy this story; they love being tickled as we read along - or pretending to be Mr Tickle themselves. Little Miss Magic is a lovely character who promotes kindness and consideration for others - even through shrinking Mr Tickle's arms! I think some of the humour is lost on them at the minute; they will only enjoy it more as they get older.

The illustrations are fantastic: simple but bright and eye-catching. They keep my children engaged while we're sharing the book as well as demonstrating meaning to the words we're reading.

We revisit this story frequently; my children love it.
