The Gruffalo's Child is the number one bestselling, much-loved sequel to the worldwide picture book phenomenon that is The Gruffalo . Julia Donaldson's trademark rhyming text and Axel Scheffler's brilliant, characterful illustrations combine once more to ensure that the Gruffalo's Child has followed firmly in her father's footsteps and that her story is one that children will ask for again, and again . . . and again!

The Gruffalo's child follows on from the original story, (but can be read without prior knowledge of the first).

The young gruffalo dismisses her father's warning about staying away from the deep dark forest and ventures out one stormy night and.braves it in the snow to investigate whether or not the Big Bad Mouse does exist.

Beautifully illustrated by Axel Scheffler and told brilliantly in her rhyming style, Julia Donaldson does not disappoint. Highly recommend as it will definitely become a favourite.

The hardback version, which is about A5 size, is just right and will not easily get damaged.

Overall 10/10.

A great follow on from the Gruffalo - the Gruffalo's child goes on a hunt for the 'big bad' mouse but is he all that he seems!!  Great rhythmic text and lovely pictures. Another great book as you would expect from the range.

Our five year old loves this book and is really absorbed in the illustrations as I read aloud the rhyming tale. I personally prefer The Gruffalo, both and colour and in story, but this is a lovely snowy story to share around Christmas time.
