The smallest fish can tell the tallest tales ...
"Sorry I'm late, Miss. I set off really early but on the way to school
I was captured by a squid. I wriggled and I struggled till
a turtle came and rescued me."
"Oh, no, he didn't." "OH, YES, HE DID."

Tiddler is a little fish with a BIG imagination! What ever will he
come up with next?

This is a great book, nice rhyming text and illustrations make it fun to join in with. Tiddler is a small fish who makes up storys for being late, but one day one of his storys really does happen. Will his friends believe him this time? My little boy really enjoyed this, he likes the register bit with all the different types of fish.

Another hit from the Donaldson/Scheffler dream team! Both my kids (4 and 6) really enjoy this story, about a small fish who tells tall stories to his classmates and teacher. The illustrations are very detailed and colourful, with lots to spot. The rhyming text makes it easier for kids to memorise so they can join in with the story. We especially liked doing funny voices for the different sea creatures passing on the story! We would definitely recommend this book.

A bright and cheery, typically Julia Donaldson book. The repetition, almost like a chorus, makes it great for first readers. Originally bought this when first published when my youngest daughter was small, now reading to my grandson, and unlike some books, the content doesn't date.

This is one of my daughter's favourites.  It is a lovely story about a fish who dreams up excuses for why he is late for school, then one day he really ends up lost and a long way from home, and it is his fabled stories that lead him home again.  The book has lovely repetition, rhyme and bright pictures to engage little ones.
