This innovative and wildly funny read-aloud will be the Must Have book of the season. You might think a book with no pictures seems boring and serious.'s how books work. Everything written on the page has to be said by the person reading it aloud. Even if the words say...BLORK. Or BLUURF. Even if the words are a preposterous song about eating ants for breakfast, or just a list of astonishingly goofy sounds like BLAGGITY BLAGGITY and GLIBBITY GLOBBITY.

This is an amazing book. I used it in a classroom with reluctant readers and they all loved it and asked to read it again and again.  It is really funny and engaging. Highly recommended.

My six year old was introduced to this book by her year 1 teacher(primary 2 in Northern Ireland). She adores is, she knew it by heart from school but still wanted to have it in the house! Still a strong favourite, one year on!

This is a book unlike any other you will ever read. It is very very funny and will have your children giggling away.  Not much can really be said about this book without giving away what makes it so funny, but.... It is definitely worth getting hold of a copy, you honestly will not regret it!

What an amazing book! I loved reading this to my son and he found it hilariously funny. He absolutely didn't mind that there were no pictures to look at in the book as the story kept him engaged and entertained. As soon as we had finished, he demanded we read this again. I would highly recommend this book!

Certainly not boring. The Book With No Pictures is simply full of silliness. I thoroughly enjoyed reading this out loud to my eldest two children (4 and 2) and by the end my 4 year old was actually rolling around on the floor giggling. Definitely give this book a go but don't be shy when reading it, the more you put into the daft noises the more enjoyable it is! Good luck!

I was very unsure about this book when I first looked at it an could not understand all the rave reviews. However, my son (especially age 5) found it hilarious. It seemed to improve with each reading, probably as I got used to using silly voices and exaggerating facial expressions. Great book.

My 6 year old and 2 year old thought this book was hilarious! My 6 year old kept bursting into laughter just thinking about it which I've never seen before with any book.
It's a great concept, best read aloud, the reader is basically forced by the book to say ridiculous things, which appealscperfectly to the slightly silly sense of humour of young kids (mine at least). We've bought it for a couple of friends as presents and they've said how funny they found it too. Great fun!

This book looks seriously boring...but open it up and magic happens. Read it aloud to your little people in a totally crazy, unabashed manner and you will be guaranteed to have your child making incredible belly giggles. Quirky concept to have a story book without a single picture, but it just goes to show that children only need a great story teller to let their imaginations run wild. Buy it, borrow certainly won't regret it!

Hilarious! I really don't know what more to say but it had everyone giggling to the point where we were crying with laughter. I normally try and write more, but there aren't any characters to speak of (other than yourself whether you like it or not) and there isn't a plot. However it is a very enjoyable book.

I love the concept of this book - it's very innovative and encourages the reader to make an extra effort in the storytelling. The title pretty much explains the concept! The more you put into it a reader, the better reaction you will get from your audience. However, I can't give it a higher score because although I really loved it, and admired the text and the idea, it hasn't proved to be a book my children have gone back to and asked to be read. The second reading (some months apart) did seem to get a better reaction, but I'll be interested to see if it's enough to make them seek it out in the future.

After reading all the fantastic reviews, I was excited about this book!  Sadly, it didn't meet the hype, and I felt let down!  It tries to be funny, but for me, it failed and fell short of what could have been an amazing book.

The words used didn't make my kids laugh like they were supposed to.  If you're going to write a silly book, then use FUNNY words, not just gibberish.  There isn't as much interaction like I'd expect from a book like this either.

I much prefer 'I say OOH, you say AHH" which is a similar concept, although it has pictures but more enjoyable.

I bought this book on pre-order as I thought the idea was clever.... power of language / how the sound of "made up" words envoke a meaning... etc etc.
"My only friend in the whole wide world is a hippo called .... Boo Boo Butt". Hilarious. Not.
Don't waste your money... or your time !
