Inspired by Susan Coolidge's classic What Katy Did , read Jacqueline Wilson's modern day take on the story about the feisty tomboy heroine.
Katy Carr is a lively, daredevil oldest sister in a big family. She loves messing around outdoors, climbing on the garage roof, or up a tree, cycling, skateboarding, swinging... But her life changes in dramatic and unexpected ways after a serious accident.
Katy is an irresistible modern version of a much-loved classic. Perfect for young readers of 9+, fans of Hetty Feather and Tracy Beaker will fall in love with Katy and her family too.

Katy is the eldest of six, is tall for her age and is going to start Secondary school.  Izzie is Katy's stepmother, who Katy does not get along with.  After another argument with Izzie, Katy went to the secret garden, even though she was supposed to be in her room.  What happens then changes Katy's life forever...

I really enjoyed reading this book with my Mum.  There aren't many books with disabled characters; this book has lots of disabled characters who are lifelike and who I would really want to meet in real life.  Jacqueline Wilson has rewritten a 19th century book that was a favourite of hers.  She has done an amazing job and now I want to read the original!

Katy is one of my favourite books.Once I had picked the book I couldn't put it down!
This book is about an adventurous and daring girl named Katy.
One day she's at home (as a punishment) and gets herself into a lot of trouble.
She wonders if she will ever feel like flying again.
It's a great book but I recommend it to older readers.

Katy is one of my favourite books. Its about a uoung girl called Katy who is very daring but she can get into a lot of trouble when she is left on her own. One day when she is alone in the house,as a punishment, she has a terrible accident.A brilliant book. One of Jaqueline Wilsons best books so far.
