"Father Christmas needs a wee.
He's been drinking drinks since half past three . . ."

At each different house that he visits Father Christmas drinks and eats all the goodies left out for him. Before long he really, really, really needs a wee. So much so that he even forgets to leave the presents behind. But he dashes back, delivers all the pressies and flies home at high speed to avoid an embarassing accident . . . there's just one tiny problem . . . he's lost his house key!

Find out what happens and whether Father Christmas ever gets to relieve himself in this brilliant and fabulously funny counting book from the talented author/illustrator Nicholas Allan!

Yep it's that time of year again for this one to come off the bookshelf - I always forget what a cracker it is.  Poor old Santa eating and drinking all those lovely gifts left by the tree - no wonder he's desperate for a wee!  Super illustrations and great rhyming text make this a fun read all year round (but especially at Christmas time!)

What a great story, the title alone had my daughter in stitches and everytime it was repeated in the story she had a proper big chuckle. The counting drinks and gifts was a great idea and the counting of the gifts too, and my daughter loved it when he got to the toilet!

What a funny book, my son is nearly 4 and obsessed with wee , poop and farts at the moment. So this book has had him laughing out loud. He joins in the counting as Santa visits each house drinking all the drinks and eating all the treats. The suspense builds , will be Make it back to the North Pole before he sets himself. A read again and again story every Christmas .

My kids think this book is hilarious. It's probably suitable for 2 and up but under 4s might not get the humour.  Fortunately I wouldn't describe it as toilet humour.  It's a rhyming one,  which seems popular amongst preschoolers and early readers and follows father Christmas as his annual delivery duty begins. As a parent it's nice to see that the book contains an element of educational value hidden in the humour as the story counts up and back to/from 10. See what goodies are left for santa at each house and what gifts he (eventually) leaves in return.
If your kids think the word bottom ishilarious then this is the kind of book they'll love. A good one for the festive season.

So, anything with the word 'wee' in the title is guaranteed to be enjoyed by my son!  However, the book is great! Lots of counting rhymes to help the children learn, great illustrations and of course it has Father Christmas which is a definite hit!

This book has been used over and over again not just at Christmas.we started reading it at 2 years old. The story is in rhyme and so easy to read we now know it off by heart. It also includes counting numbers from 1-10 so is particular useful for younger children. The illustrations are bright and colourful and certainly stimulates the imagination of Christmas.

A rhyming book of what Santa has drunk on his house visits on Christmas eve. My daughter found it very funny that Santa needed a wee and loved joining in with counting all the different thinks he had drunk. A twist at the end had her wondering if he would make it to the loo in time, it was a very popular read!

This has all the perfect elements of a story for my son - wee, Father Christmas, counting and jolly rhymes! As Father Christmas goes about his present deliveries on Christmas Eve he stops in each hours and has increasing numbers of drinks at each... resulting in an urgent need to go to the toilet (something any young child can relate to).  But! He has been so busy drinking the goodies that have been left out for him that he forgot to leave the presents! Before he can go home to the toilet he must go back to each house to deliver them. The drama is ramped up, will he make it back home in time?????!!!!

My son loves this book, the rhymes and plot is very funny, it's a great amusing book to read at Christmas time.

If you have ever read a Nicholas Allan book before, you'll know to expect something slightly off beat and cheeky.
As we go through the story children can count along with you how many drinks Father Christmas has. How kind of people to leave him a multitude of beverages. Problem is, he is very busy and doesn't get the chance to go to the toilet til the end! Share his relief when he finally makes it there at the end-cue much laughter from the children.
We get this kind of book out when we are in a light hearted mood-they are not well loved favourites, but worth having in your book stash.
