Despite hearing how fearsome the mouse is, the Gruffalo's child decides one snowy night to go off in search of the frightening creature. As in the previous book the rhyming couples are good and entertaining and the pictures are appealing. My child loves the pace of the tale and enjoys the cleverness if the mouse.

A wonderful sequel to the much loved Gruffalo book. The story is fun and the character of the Gruffalo's child is really relatable to children. The pairing of Donaldson's rhyming funny text and Schefflers sweet beautiful illustrations is wonderful as always. A brilliant exciting book.

This is another favourite of Julia Donaldsons books in our house. We love her style and all her books. We read this every week even my step son still loves it. We like how brave the gruffalos child is to go out even after being told not too. But my kids have decided you shouldn't do it and you need to listen to your parents or who's looking after you. Not like they do this haha

This is a great follow up book from the original Gruffallo story. As always, this Julia Donaldson story has a clever rhyme theme with great illustrations. My son & daughter enjoyed the continuity of the charachters and they were very excited that the Gruffallo had a child. Really good book and now my daughter likes to read along by herself.

This is such a clever story. It had a lot to live up to after the Gruffalo but it didn't disappoint.  My daughter loved the story and all the twists, the illustrations are lovely and there's the opportunity for silly voices which is always a bonus.

We loved The Gruffalo but had heard some people say that The Gruffalo's child lacked the same magic - this is not true!
We loved this book equally as much as the Gruffalo, and we enjoyed the reversal of the mouse now being the character to be feared 'THE BIG BAD MOUSE!'
In this story, the Gruffalo's child goes against her father's wishes and journey's out one night to find the Big Bad Mouse. The Gruffalo's child meets our best loved characters of fox, snake and owl before coming across mouse himself. Mouse's moonlight trick is charming and clever and had my children in fits of giggles when they were young.
I would highly recommend this book. Both The Gruffalo and the Gruffalo's Child should be firmly on any young child's bookcase.
