This is a classic tale so you can not go wrong with it. My son is a big fan of the cartoon, so we bought this book to read at bedtime. My son loved reading about Peter and his daring escape from Mr McGregor's garden. We have this in the board book version which is great in terms of not ripping or falling apart easily. Big thumbs up from us!

Peter Rabbit is jolly good fun, Beatrix Potter stories are classic and never seem to age, we love the scrapes that Peter Rabbit gets into and he really is just like a pesky little child, highly recommended, lovely storyline and fantastic illustrations.

My three year old twin girls are big fans of the Peter Rabbit CBeebies show so were very excited to get the complete Beatrix Potter collection from their Granny. This is their favourite story (probably because it is the one they already know) from the set and love the sweet original illustrations. The story has a nice moral and is very exciting. It might not be suitable for really young children as it is quite scary when Mr McGregor is chasing him around the garden. Also the fact that Peter's father was killed and eaten by Mr McGregor might upset some children. Other than that it is a true children's classic which every child should own.

I have always loved Peter Rabbit as a child. It's lovely to share a story I loved as a child with my own children. They equally love Peter Rabbit. This book is great my eldest daughter who is 6 read this book and it challenges her with some tricky words but the majority she can read independently. My youngest loves the story and the illustrations. A classic story and a firm favourite bedtime story in our house as they also love the movie.

As I remembered the Beatrix Potter books fondly from my own childhood we started my daughter with Peter Rabbit as she loves the somewhat jazzed up tv version. I do remember being a little fearful of Peter's dad getting in eaten in a pie but my daughter didn't seem to compute that part and enjoyed the pictures, which really are timeless. I think the fact that Peter ignores his mother and goes off on a risky adventure appeals to kids now just as much as when first written.

This is the classic Beatrix Potter book that is sure to have another surge in popularity following the recent film. I think that the reason that my children love this story is that it is easy for them as young children to relate to the temptation to do something that you know is wrong, and that you have been told specifically not to do.  There is something thrillingly scary about the consequences of Peter Rabbit eating from Mr McGregor's garden, and the fear that Peter Rabbit will suffer the same consequence as his father.  As a parent, reading this story is also a lovely way to pass down a classic from one generation to the next.

This book is truly a classic. Follow Peters adventures of hunting for carrots and other tasty treats with the infamous Mr McGregor doing everything in his power to stop Peter in his tracks! Poor peter ends up having chamomile tea whilst his sisters enjoy blackberries. Exciting, funny and great for children and adults alike.

"I like Peter Rabbit. He is a bit naughty because he loves to eat Mr McGregors carrots. Mr McGregor shouts at him"

Beatrix Potter stories are timeless and both of my son's have enjoyed Peter Rabbit. It's a gentle tale about a mischievous rabbit, who gets into a spot of bother when he disobey's his mother's instructions.

The illustrations are original and beautiful. The style of the language may come across as a bit old fashioned, but I like that, and I think children should hear good English in this way. It is through classic tales like this that language is preserved.

The paragraphs are short, which helps in keeping a young child's concentration. Each page is illustrated.

The Beatrix Potter books simply have to be a part of your children's childhood library!

a classic which is much loved and very popular. Peter Rabbit visits Mr McGregor's garden whilst being warned not to by Mrs Rabbit. It's a lovely tale that reminds children the importance of doing what they are told as Peter Rabbit wouldn't have been at risk or as frightened had he of gone down the fields like his siblings did.  Annabelle is a bit young to follow this story at present but will enjoy and relate to the characters as she grows older.
