This is a wonderful story about friendship. It is beautifully illustrated and has a few simple words per page. There was a boy and one day he found a penguin at his door. He thinks the penguin must be lost and so he tries to return him but where do you return a penguin too? We really enjoyed this story and love other stories by Oliver Jeffers'. A great book to share with the family.

A beautifullly illustrated, heartwarming story about friendship and the lengths we'll go to for those we care about. This is a book I check out of the library time and again, and I love reading it to L. She always listens intently to it and often falls asleep on the final page! Highly recommended

This is a beautiful book, and probably my favourite of all the Oliver Jeffers books I have read. In the story, a boy finds a penguin, and assumes that it is lost. He goes to all kinds of lengths to find where the penguin belongs, and eventually the sail to the south pole together.  There is a heartbreaking moment when they are separated, and in the end the boy realises that the penguin will be at home wherever his new friend is. There are a lot of valuable lessons here, such as finding friends in unexpected places, the importance of helping others, and home being where your family is, but as always, Jeffers' writing is not moralistic.

I love how much detail Jeffers hides in his simple illustrations, an there are also lots of playful 'easter eggs' for the adults reading in this story as well.

I loved lost and found because a penguin was in the story and I love penguins. I like the bit where the boy rowed the boat with the penguin.

My son read this at school with his class and really enjoyed it and told me about Oliver Jeffers. Having googled his work, I'll definitely be getting more of his books for my son.
