50 Children's Books about World War Two and D-Day

5th June 2019

Soliders at war

6th June 2019 marks the 75th anniversary of the D-Day Landings, when Allied forces landed in an extensive and coordinated air, land and naval attack on Nazi-occupied northern France.

This is such an important event to remember and given the huge loss of life it can feel like a difficult subject to address with children. We've picked out 50 books to help children learn and understand both the D-Day Landings and also the wider context of the Second World War, with sections for Younger Readers, Non-Fiction & Reference, Diaries and Older Fiction.
